Eine Metaphrase (griech. μΡτάφρασις β€žΓœbersetzungβ€œ, von μΡτά β€žhinterherβ€œ und φράση β€žAusdruck, Satz, Wendungβ€œ) ist eine wortgetreue Übersetzung in einen anderen Ausdruck, wobei Versdichtung in Prosa umgewandelt wird. Eine Paraphrase ist dagegen eine sinngemÀße Übertragung ohne wΓΆrtliche Textwiederholung. Weiterhin bezeichnet der Begriff die erklΓ€rende Wiederholung eines Wortes durch ein Synonym.
